Over break I started working on my impressionist landscape. I researched a few artists and I settled on trying to imitate the mark of Alfred Sisley which I really need to work on. My image has a lot of sky and his skies are really incredible so I thought it would be a decent fit. He also has some nice impasto and I want to incorporate that. I planned on doing oil paint for my work but I did not realize how hard that would be. I didn't realize how essential turpentine is to oil painting... So a couple days of work were really confusing and miserable. Luckily I found some and got to work. I still have a lot to figure out with oils and I don't really know what I'm doing still with these medium. I need to add lots of texture to my landscape as of now, but I have a pretty decent base I think.
I am an art student at Maggie Walker and this is the place where I talk about what we're making and what we're learning... Through this I can pour out my heart about my artistic experience.
