- This week we have started our Old Masters drawing. Tuesday I concluded on the Pietro Faccini study and we tore and gridded our papers. I went with a paper with a tooth and I sketched out the body in pencil. That was really frustrating because proportions always kind of piss me off and I could not get the legs right which made me really angry. You would think that drawing a drawing would be quite simple because you are mimicking lines that have already been mimicked in a way, but it was not easy for me. That was really frustrating.. The next class we tinted our papers and began a mark analysis and each turned out okay, but I am really not excited for this project yet. Pietro Faccini's drawing style is very solid and clean and blended with light shading and precision whereas I like to scribble and press down really hard and make a mess and have really obvious disjointed lines create a shades. As of now, I am pretty nervous about this project and I am scared to start really charcoaling because I just think I could end up messing it up even more. The plus side is though, I get to draw some lovely genitalia so if its really bad, it won't be hung anyway.
I am an art student at Maggie Walker and this is the place where I talk about what we're making and what we're learning... Through this I can pour out my heart about my artistic experience.
