It is really wild how close to the end of the month we are. School days seem to take forever, but now I realize how close everything like Fall Festival and assignments due in October are due in only a few days. I have been chugging along in my sketchbook pages and I think I will end up finishing them satisfactorily by the 4th. This week we have started talking about the Renaissance, but more specifically, our Old Masters drawing. I don't love the Renaissance although I really that it propelled art forward, and I can't say I am super excited for this project. We have gone to the library and begun our research and it all seems to be happening really fast. Some pieces seem promising though. I have two images I have to choose from, one is a sketch by artist Pietro Faccini and another is a beautiful, but very difficuly dry brush painting by Andrew Wyeth. I am leaning towards the Pietro Faccini study just because I feel it can executed by me. Coach Hall asked me if I was confident enough to draw the other piece and I don't think I am confident enough...
I am an art student at Maggie Walker and this is the place where I talk about what we're making and what we're learning... Through this I can pour out my heart about my artistic experience.
