This week we continued to work on our monoprints. I felt pretty stuck on all of them and I just began going a little crazy with water. I printed really quickly and let a lot of stuff happen naturally. I would literally wet my plate with some ink on it, let the water drip randomly and then I would run to the press and print it sopping wet. I liked the lack of control that I had with everything and the straight, grid-like lines I was using contrasted with the uncontrolled organic quality of the really wet ink. We also critiqued our pieces and worked on figuring out how to finalize them. I don't really feel like any of my prints are done, but I don't really know how to add to them.
Here are some of my pieces in progress.
I am an art student at Maggie Walker and this is the place where I talk about what we're making and what we're learning... Through this I can pour out my heart about my artistic experience.
